In Switzerland, the reluctance to buy pet accessories continues. However, the demand for high quality pet food remains strong. Swiss wholesaler Delphin Amazonia has adapted to this development.
"At our in-house exhibition at the end of October, more than 80 per cent of our new products will come from the pet food sector," says CEO Thomas Schmid. The change in priorities is also reflected in the publication of new catalogues: a new catalogue for pet food is to be published this year, but not for pet accessories. In the medium to long term, Delphin Amazonia intends to reduce its range from the current 12 000 products to around 8 000.
