Fressnapf, Europe’s leading pet store chain, increased its sales in its anniversary year 2015 by 7.1 per cent compared with 2014 to € 786 bn. Its growth abroad was particularly successful, with sales increasing by 8.5 per cent to € 667 mio. Profits in Germany increased by 6.3 per cent to € 1.119 bn.
As of the end of 2015, the company operated 1 386 stores, 868 in Germany and 518 abroad.
In 2016 Fressnapf intends to open 60 new stores, ten in Germany and 50 in other countries.
Two of the company’s own brands will also notch up anniversaries in 2016: Real Nature will be ten years old and Select Gold marks 15 years in existence. Fressnapf boss Torsten Toeller appeared satisfied with the company’s cooperation with Payback: “2.7 million holders of Payback cards have already paid using their card at Fressnapf, and over a million vouchers have been redeemed.”
