Shrimp pet food producer achieves PSC sustainability accreditation

Oct 15, 2022
Tr¨± Shrimp, that recently debuted in the pet food industry, uses every single part of shrimp in its pet food portfolio.

The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) accredited the tr¨± Shrimp Companies after measuring and verifying that the company met a “minimum performance” and a year-on-year improvement in sustainability.

Ashley Lane, PSC’s Accreditation Manager, said that the shrimp high-protein pet food brand completed a full assessment of its business operations and passed a rigorous verification process.

According to the company, it delivers higher nutritional values, focusing on the sustainable utilization of every part of the crustacean.

"Our company looks forward to becoming a sustainability leader within the pet food industry. This is a wonderful first step in our journey to elevate our corporate social responsibility," said Tru Protein CEO Michael Ziebell.

Tr¨± Shrimp Companies entered the pet food segment in August with the launch of its first brand of high-protein pet food and treats made from 100% ground raw shrimp.
