Nestlé’s subsidiary will inject $100 million to expand its facility in Jefferson, which has been operating since 1910.
The city council unanimously approved the plans of the pet food manufacturer to add 5,000 square meters to the existing facility.
According to Nestle's proposal sent to the city government, the expansion will create at least 75 new full-time employees.
The expansion and investment in new equipment is anticipated to increase the company’s manufacturing capacity and accommodate new production lines, which is expected to rise output volume by 30%.
The pet care company reached sales of CHF 15.56 billion ($15.84B) in 2021, driven by premium brands Purina Pro Plan, Fancy Feast and Purina ONE, along with veterinary products.
