Nestlé has published its group sales for the first nine months of 2019. The markets in the USA and Brazil in particular along with sales of pet food and coffee have generated further growth for the Swiss company, especially in the third quarter.
Sales increased by 2.9 per cent in the first nine months of the year to roughly 68.4 bn Swiss francs or around 62.1 bn euros (previous year: 66.4 bn Swiss francs).
"We are recording extremely strong growth worldwide for Purina Petcare," Nestlé boss Ulf Schneider is quoted as saying in the company's press release. He added: "We are satisfied with our nine-month figures and have made further advances down the road to our financial targets for 2020." The group aims to reduce costs by up to 2.5 bn francs by 2020 and then grow in the mid-single-digit percentage range.
