The Ukrainian investment group Rohatyn is buying the leading Romanian pet store chain Animax. According to the Romanian financial press, the asking price is 20 mio euros.
Animax has been trading in the Romanian market for over 15 years and has become the leading pet store chain with nearly 80 outlets. The company, which is still wholly owned by its founder Christian Ludovic Pop, has achieved high sales growth in the last few years. It is expected to have good development prospects in the future also in view of the rapid growth rate of the Romanian pet supplies sector.
