Das Futterhaus is planning at least 30 new openings in Germany and five new stores in Austria this year. The pet store chain thus intends to continue with its expansion strategy. Last year the company experienced the "most successful year since Das Futterhaus was established" with overall sales of 344 mio euros.
The chain, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017, increased its sales by 9 per cent compared with the previous year in Germany alone. The increase in like-for-like sales was 5.7 per cent. In Austria the company increased its bottom line of 30 mio euros from the previous year by 14.4 per cent to over 34.5 mio euros. Das Futterhaus recorded an increase of 3.4 per cent in like-for-like sales in Austria.
