The Castronno-based Croci Group, a leading Italian company in the pet supplies and aquarium sector, has acquired 100 per cent of Camon, a long-established company from Verona, according to reports in Italian newspapers.
Camon was founded in 1985 by Roberto Canazza and is based in Albaredo d'Adige (Verona). The company specialises in the development, production and distribution of high-quality pet products, including snacks, functional foods, nutritional supplements and pet care products. The acquisition enables the Croci Group to enter the functional food segment. Canazza, the current CEO, will continue to be involved in the operational management of the company.
Croci, which was founded around 30 years ago on the initiative of entrepreneur Dario Croci in the province of Varese in Castronno, specialises in the development and manufacture of a wide range of pet accessories. The products include kennels, leads, aquariums, toys, snacks and hygiene products. Croci also has direct subsidiaries in Germany, France, Spain and China. The addition of Camon will increase the Croci Group's turnover from 50 mio euro to 85 mio euro and will create significant economies of scale.
