The discount chain Aldi has become the number 1 seller of own-brand pet food in the UK, according to the newsletter of the PLMA association. The retailer has seen more than 50 per cent growth in sales in a year-on-year comparison.
Pet ownership in the country has increased to 59 per cent, with an estimated 12 million dogs and 12 million cats.
