Mondi, the packaging and paper company, is investing nearly 65 mio euros in three consumer flexibles plants in Europe to meet growing customer demand for sustainable packaging for pet food. The project is part of an expansion programme worth 1 billion euros that was already announced by Mondi.
At the company’s plant in Korneuburg (Austria), work has already begun, with investment in new, ultra-modern machinery and installations as well as an extended production site. The company is also putting money into new, advanced machinery in its German plants in Halle and Steinfeld. This investment will increase the production capacity for sustainable, prefabricated pouch solutions for pet food along with household and bodycare products.
