The leading Italian pet retailer Arcaplanet has appointed Nicolò Galante as chief executive officer (CEO) and Alessandro Strati as chief financial officer (CFO). Prior to joining Arcaplanet, Galante held the role as COO and as CEO of the department stores at the Central Group in Thailand. He was also president of central retail at this company.
Strati was previously CFO at illy Caffè. In his 25-year career, he filled the position of CFO in Fila and Moleskine. He has a wealth of experience in finance, M&A and capital markets, according to Arcaplanet.
These two appointments follow the acquisition of Arcaplanet by Cinven, an international private equity firm that holds a majority stake in the business, together with the Fressnapf Group, a pan-European leader in the pet care sector, as minority shareholder. As part of the transaction, Arcaplanet will integrate with Maxi Zoo Italia (part of the Fressnapf Group) to create the Arcaplanet Group, with more than 450 stores across the country (see PET worldwide coverage).
Cinven and Fressnapf aim to accelerate the multichannel growth of the group both in Italy as well as in new markets, backed by both shareholders' extensive experience in the pet and digital trade sectors.
