Kerbl takes over clippers business from Aesculap Suhl GmbH

Nov 27, 2020
Aesculap Schermaschinen GmbH, a newly established subsidiary of Albert Kerbl GmbH, is taking over the clippers and shearing machines for small and large animals division from Aesculap Suhl GmbH. Aesculap AG, which owns Aesculap Suhl GmbH, and Aesculap Schermaschinen GmbH have agreed the takeover will take place on 1 January 2021.

Albert Kerbl GmbH has been in close partnership with Aesculap Suhl GmbH for some years now and took over all sales for this division in April 2017. Albert Kerbl GmbH is a family-owned manufacturer and distributor of products for animal breeding and farming. “The basis for this transition is a close-knit structure and a trusting partnership of equals. The Kerbl Group’s innovation and continued growth means we are confident that the clippers business will develop sustainably and successfully,” says Dr Joachim Schulz, Chair of Aesculap AG.

“Selling the division is the next logical step to reinforce and further develop the clippers business,” continues Schulz.

Aesculap Schermaschinen GmbH, which will in future operate as a subsidiary of Albert Kerbl GmbH, was founded specifically for the takeover of the clippers and shearing machines for small and large animals division. The working conditions of the staff in this division are to remain unchanged as it transitions to the new company. This will also maintain in full all operational and contractual employment rights, making them valid beyond 1 January 2021.

“We have built up a close partnership over recent years and have developed the clippers business in a very positive way. Now we want to being our strengths together and further develop both the division and the Suhl site. Aesculap Schermaschinen GmbH will continue to coordinate the clippers and shearing machines for small and large animals division from Suhl,” says Albert Kerbl, CEO of Albert Kerbl GmbH.
