The online industry magazine PetfoodIndustry.com has published a ranking list of the ten largest European pet food companies. The criterion for the ranking was their annual revenue in 2019, according to Petfood Industry's Top Pet Food Companies Current Data.
The private label manufacturer Deuerer in Germany was ranked first with an annual revenue of 721.1 million dollars and 1 800 employees. In second place is Heristo, which owns the Saturn Petcare Group. This includes private-label giant Saturn Petcare and Animonda Petfood, also based in Germany. Its annual revenue is stated at 700 million dollars, with 750 employees. Agrolimen in Spain is in third place, with an annual revenue of 580 million dollars and 2 000 employees.
Other companies in the ranking are United Petfood Producers (Belgium), C & D Foods (Ireland), Affinity Petcare (Spain), Monge & C. (Italy), Partners in Pet Food (Hungary), Neovia (France) and Vitakraft Pet Care (Germany).
