The wet pet food plant in Kėdainiai Free Economic Zone in Lithuania was built to increase production capacity and to bring logistical benefits for customers over the world.
Opening of this plant is a part of Kormotech’s global strategy. The ambitious goal is to be among the top 50 global companies of the industry by 2023. The company plans to increase own revenue and capitalization in three times to reach this goal.
“We have chosen to invest in Lithuania, Kėdainiai Free Economic Zone because it’s giving us a lot of benefits: there are geographical advantages for our further expansion in the European market as well as the most attractive conditions for doing business, in particular, tax breaks for 10 years. We believe that Kormotech’s plant in Lithuania will stimulate the development of local raw materials suppliers needed for the production of pet food”,- says Rostyslav Vovk, owner and CEO Kormotech
The total amount of investment is over 10 million Euros.
“We control the quality of our products in 60 points. That is why our products meet European standards of quality in accordance with FSSC 22000. At the new factory we plan to get a BRC and IFS certificate*.
The new plant is 90% automated and requires 50 employees. Despite the quarantine, we installed equipment from the world's leading manufacturers (Selo, Somic, Karshnell, Steriflow, Ishida etc). The main goal - maximum automation of processes. Some tasks are performed by robots - similar to those that assemble the cars. It will help the company to reach an annual capacity of 20,000 tons in a short time”,- says Igor Paranyak, Chief production officer.
Each product was developed using a unique technology by pet nutrition specialists in the US and Europe, under the control of Ukrainian technologists and veterinarians.
