Vitakraft invests 20 mio euros

Feb 14, 2020
Vitakraft plans to begin construction of a fully automated high-bay warehouse at its Bremen headquarters before the end of March this year. It will have a floor space similar to that of a football field and a maximum height of 37 metres. By autumn, the new building is expected to expand the storage capacity by 44 000 pallet spaces and thus meet the expected growth in the coming years. At the same time, the expansion of the warehouse will reduce the complete availability of goods from two days to just a few minutes.

Sophisticated logistics will then ensure that in future there will be no more multiple stock removal and storage operations and no more factory traffic to and from the external warehouses. The pallet transport from production to the newly installed truck loading ramps is fully automatically controlled. With simultaneous storage and retrieval, approx. 340 pallets per hour are thus handled under full load.
