Blue Buffalo pet food sales grew in fiscal 2019 to reach 1.43 bn dollars for the brand owned by General Mills. The General Mills pet segment operating profit hit 268 mio dollars in fiscal 2019. Mass market and e-commerce retail channels fuelled Blue Buffalo sales growth. However, pet speciality retail sales dropped.
In Q4, Blue Buffalo net sales hit 406 mio dollars representing 38 per cent growth. The pet food brands segment operating profit increased by 82 per cent in the fourth quarter due to strong volume growth and a positive price/mix.
