Petmate has announced its acquisition of Gamma2, a manufacturer of airtight containers mainly used to store dry pet food. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded by Curt Leland, Gamma2 has corporate offices in Carlsbad, CA and manufacturing plants in Gardena, CA and Sweetwater, TN. Over the next few months, Petmate will complete a full transition of the Carlsbad corporate office and its associated intellectual property to its corporate headquarters in Arlington, TX.
The company's product line currently offers nearly 30 pet and food storage products for domestic, outdoor and travel use. The products are distributed in store and online at Petco, PetSmart, Costco, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon.com and Chewy.com.
