Zooplus AG was able to maintain its high level of corporate growth in the third quarter of 2016 and consolidate its existing market leadership in European online pet supplies retailing. Sales increased during this period by 28 per cent to 227 mio euros, according to the company.
Sales for the first nine months of 2016 grew by 28 per cent to 655 mio euros. Adjusted for currency variations, the company's growth both in the third quarter of 2016 and for the nine months of 2016 as a whole was 30 per cent compared with the previous year. Sales of food, which is key to sustainable growth in the segment, again increased disproportionately by 31 per cent in the third quarter of 2016 and by 32 per cent in the first nine months of the year. Both
in the third quarter and in the first nine months, food accounted for 82 per cent of overall sales.
