The Vaccari family from the Italian company Ferplast received the PET Personality of the Year award yesterday evening (11 October) at the International Pet Conference. Ralf Majer-Abele, managing editor of the trade magazines pet and PET worldwide, delivered the laudation, outlining the continuing success story of the company, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
In his acceptance speed, Ferplast managing director Nicola Vaccari stressed that nearly 90 per cent of the company's products, numbering around 4 000 items, are produced in Europe. "This enables us to retain control of every aspect of the overall production process."
Over the years Ferplast has developed from a small, regional manufacturer of cages into a producer and supplier of high-quality pet products that is in demand worldwide.
