Zoosphere 2015 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, was held on 19-21 November. About 200 companies from Brazil, the Czech Republic, China, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Turkey presented pet food of economy and premium class, a wide range of accessories for pets, veterinary care items and products for grooming on an exhibition area covering more than 13 000 m2. Zoosphere proves that the pet industry is of interest to a wide audience and a promising market for businesses. There were 19 000 visitors and 7 000 pet industry professionals in attendance.
The business programme focused chiefly on a business forum for top managers in which the main topics were sales management, e-commerce, brand promotion through Internet resources, franchising in the pet industry and pet insurance. A special buyer's programme enabled pet product manufacturers to arrange meetings and sign contracts with the most important distributors and retail chains in the pet supplies sector. More than 1 000 transactions took place in one day. For the first time at Zoosphere, a round-table discussion was conducted by the Union of Pet Industry Enterprises (UPE). The topics of discussion there included questions relating to legislation in veterinary medicine, customs issues, the pet supplies business in Crimea and the presentation of new programmes created by the Study Centre UPE.
