More professional venue for PetExpo

The PetExpo Romania 2012 will take place on 22-24 June at Romexpo in Bucharest. The organiser Ilie Pana announced a more professional venue for a high standard international event. According to a press release, the last two shows attracted at least 10 000 visitors per show. This year the organiser expects exhibitors and visitors from Romania, France, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Denmark, Belgium and Portugal.
The fair organiser also said that pet food sales in Romania in the first ten months of 2011 exceeded the sales for the whole of 2010. Out of a population of 21 million, almost half of Romanian households own a pet. 50 per cent have dogs, almost 30 per cent own cats, and 11.8 per cent have birds. Speciality stores account for 55 per cent of sales and hypermarkets for the other 45 per cent.
