Fressnapf continues to grow

In 2011, Fressnapf increased its sales in eleven European countries in all by 5.2 per cent over the previous year to € 1.36 bn. In Germany, the company achieved sales of € 913.5 mio including sales by its online shop that opened in 2009. This equates to an increase of 3.4 per cent compared with the previous year. Fressnapf's trade in pet food and accessories in ten further countries in which it trades under the name Maxi Zoo is developing even more successfully, with sales of € 448.9 mio in fiscal 2011. This is equivalent to an increase of 9 per cent over the previous year. In all, the company's like-for-like sales were up by just over one per cent.
56 new stores opened last year, including 23 in Germany. This brought the total number of Fressnapf stores to 1 193 in 2011, comprising 810 outlets in Germany and 383 abroad. These include 23 XXL stores and the 12 Megazoo stores.
