Our passion began 60 years ago, when it has been told that our founder, Diane Scott, climbed from her playpen as a toddler to chase after a dog on the streets of New York City. Our passion shows no signs of slowing down, in fact, we're just gaining speed in a brand new and exciting direction.

Diane Scott showed and bred Champion Basset Hounds for over 20 years under the kennel name of MacJoy Bassets. Three of her prized dogs Diane's Funny Valentine, C.D., Ch. JerCat's Talk of the Town, R.O.M and Ch. MacJoy's Coke Is It adorn the cover of The Basset Hound by renowned dog show judges Anna Katherine Nicholas and Marcia Foy. These dogs are also featured in Diane McCarty's book, entitled Basset Hounds.

In order to finance her dog showing obsession, Diane's dogs had to "work" earning money doing print advertisements, television appearances, commercials and a television pilot or two. In fact, it was Diane's Funny Valentine, C.D. or Mac, as he was more affectionately known, was the lonesome Maytag repairman's sidekick in a long running series of television commercials. Mac also played protagonist Mike Farrell's dog in NBC television pilot Private Sessions with Kelly McGillis. The dogs also appeared in several NYU film student term project films.

The family no longer shows dogs and now is devoted to educating people about the health benefits of spaying and neutering your dogs and rescue efforts. Too many animals are euthanized every year when they would make perfectly lovely pets. The family currently is owned by 6 rescued dogs and one rescued cat.

Our experience in owning, training, breeding and showing dogs provides us with the knowledge of what your canine companion and you need. We are dedicated to giving you superior products, selected for the most discriminating tail wagger and their owner.
